Target Group

Young explorers, aged 18 to 35, are tech-savvy individuals who frequently travel for leisure or business. They value convenience, organization, and personalized solutions to enhance their travel experiences. Frequent travelers, often balancing tight schedules, seek efficient tools to simplify their planning process. They face challenges such as managing itineraries, finding reliable local recommendations, and organizing essential travel documents, making streamlined and reliable solutions a top priority.

Problem Analysis

Booking accommodations for travel can often be a time-consuming and overwhelming process, with travelers navigating numerous websites, comparing prices, and reading reviews to find the ideal hotel. Without a user-friendly and efficient booking platform, travelers may struggle to find suitable accommodations that meet their needs and preferences.

Goals

  1. Finding Travel Companions:
    • Solo travelers often struggle to find reliable and like-minded companions for their trips.
  2. Safety Concerns:
    • Connecting with strangers for travel can feel risky without a proper verification system.
  3. Complex Planning Processes:
    • Managing costs, tickets, and itineraries across multiple platforms is cumbersome.
  4. Event Discovery Challenges:
    • Travelers may miss out on local events or face difficulties purchasing tickets conveniently.

Solution

Travel Buddy is an app designed to connect travelers while simplifying trip planning and local exploration. Users can:

  1. Find verified travel companions based on shared interests and destinations.
  2. Create groups for trips, track expenses, and organize tickets in one place.
  3. Use a map feature to discover events and purchase tickets directly within the app.

APP Store

Travel Buddy was a conceptual project developed as part of my university coursework. While the app is not currently in development, the project provided a valuable opportunity to explore the design process from ideation to prototyping. The experience allowed me to refine my skills in user research, wireframing, and creating a cohesive design system. The positive feedback I received, along with a strong grade, highlights the success and impact of the project.
